Kingdom Now Accounts For 20% of MEA Sales
Projector Vendor Consolidates Market Leadership with Dedicated Appointment
BenQ, Saudi Arabia’s best-selling projector brand with over 27.4 per cent market share in the fourth quarter for 2006, is eyeing even bigger Kingdom-wide performance and is backing its vision with a powerful nation-wide marketing campaign.
“The Saudi market represents 20 per cent of our total Middle East and Africa sales and holds huge potential for such a young brand such as ours,” said Manish Bakshi, General Manager, Middle East and Africa, BenQ. <
At a recent three-city dealer meet in Al Khobar, Riyadh and Jeddah, attended by over 200 Saudi dealers in each city, BenQ launched five new products, including its new range of VB and VL LCD TVs, 10 mega pixel digital camera and 22 inch and 24 inch LCD monitors.
“We met with nearly 600 resellers in three cities ensuring they understand BenQ is a preferred and profitable brand to be associated with. We also successfully launched our 2007 dealer campaign,” added Bakshi.
To strengthen its Saudi growth, BenQ has appointed a Country Sales Manager dedicated to Saudi Arabia. Parvez Siddiqui, to be based in Jeddah, will be responsible for channel management, operations and development.
“Through this appointment we will provide partners with a dedicated point of contact and cater to growing market product demand,” said Bakshi. “Parvez joins us from India and brings a wealth of IT and sales expertise – we are confident in his abilities and anticipate a profitable year ahead.
In his new role, Siddiqui aims to increase BenQ’s market share by penetrating the second tier channel and setting up a robust infrastructure for continued and profitable KSA growth.
“We will increase our focus on both the governmental and corporate sector,” said Siddiqui. “By increasing channel network and ensuring the right product mix, we will ensure channel profitability and market dominance.
BenQ will be present at Saudi Gitex this April and will exhibit, for the first time, at both, the trade exhibition and the shopper component.
“At Saudi GITEX, we will introduce more exciting new products into the market.
We will also meet our retailers again and strengthen relations forged during the Saudi dealer meet,” added Siddiqui.
